This large-format print project conceptualizes a poster for a winter opera festival to be placed around Amsterdam. I was inspired by the theme of the edition “Feeling Blue”.
The theme directed me towards exploring the idea of sadness in opera and combining it with face shapes inspired by classic theatre masks. Varied expressions hint at many ways sadness is portrayed in opera. I ended up with a print, that was then scanned, digitally colourised and layered to create depth.
